일본어 한자를 읽는 방법은 훈독과 음독 두가지가 있다.
훈독은 한자의 의미를 읽는 것이고 음독은 말그대로 한자가 가진 고유의 소리, 즉 음을 읽는 것이다.
訓読み (Kunyomi) 훈독 Japanese Reading
音読み (Onyomi) 음독 Chinese Reading
음독은 복합간지나 영어이름을 간지로 적을 때 사용되고, 훈독은 한 자의 간지를 읽을 때 주로 사용된다.

Wtih Kanji, there are 2 ways of reading.

- Onyomi Reading - It is Chinese Reading, and developed from the original Chinese pronunciation but as the time went by, the Japanese writing system has adaopted and became a part of the Japanese language.
It is often used with the kanji compounds, and naming English names in Kanji.
- Kunyomi Reading - It is Japanese Reading, and usually used with a single kanji character. For instance, if the following kanji is read, it is pronounced: "Ki" with Kunyomi Reading.
But, if it is combined with another Kanji character, it can be read differently with Onyomi reading.
